Unison Now Has Full PowerPoint Conversion

In Unison you now have the option of including PowerPoint slides inside your course. Here's what you can do:

  • Convert a native PowerPoint file (.ppt) to Flash (.SWF) files without anything to install on your desktop
  • Convert each slide into an individual Flash movie so that you can pick and choose which to include in your course and which to exclude
  • Convert of all animations
  • Convert of all embedded audio (make sure it is embedded and not linked)
  • Synchronize narration and animation so you can narrate right within PowerPoint while you click through your slides and keep the synchronized audio and animation
  • Add a single slide or all slides at once to your course
  • Use automatic sizing and proportional scaling during conversion so it fits perfectly within whatever course style (interface) you have selected
  • Use custom sizing option for converting the PowerPoint to the exact size you want
  • Improve the learning experience by including other template-based interactions with your PowerPoint such as learning games, branching scenario simulations, quizzes, tests, and other activities

How to Convert the PowerPoint
Unison now allows you to upload a PowerPoint file and it will convert audio and animations. Each slide is converted as a separate Flash SWF file. You can then choose to include individual slides or all slides in your online course.

------------------------------------
TO INCLUDE A SPECIFIC SLIDE:
1. Once inside the course authoring tool, click Add Page.
2. Select the PowerPoint category and click PowerPoint Slide.
3. In Step 2, click the browse (folder) button to open the Media Manager.
4. Select the PowerPoint category and click the folder name of the PowerPoint you just converted.
5. Select the slide you want to add and click Insert Selected SWF.

TIP: You can add multiple slides all at the same time by clicking the "Add Multiple SWFs" button in the Storyboard Panel then pressing the Shift key while you select multiple slides to add at one time.

------------------------------------
TO INCLUDE ALL CONVERTED SLIDES:
1. Once inside the course authoring tool, click the "Add Multiple SWFs" button in the storyboard panel.
2. In the Media Manager, place your mouse over the PowerPoint folder you want to use and click the Add All Slides button. Rapid Intake adds a separate page for each slide in your course.
